From an unknown cylinder to a verified passport
Twelve steps, in order, with no jargon. Checking an asset is free and needs no account. Registering one takes about a minute.

Find the number on your asset
Look on the neck ring, the collar, the valve or the label. Most cylinders and extinguishers carry a stamped or printed number, and many also carry a QR code or a small square Data Matrix code.

Check it for free — no account needed
Point your camera at the code, upload a photo of it, or simply type the number. You get an instant answer: who made it, what it is, whether it is safe to use, and when the next inspection and requalification fall due.

If it is not on the register yet
You will see "Not currently registered" and an offer to create a provisional digital passport for it. If the printed number is worn away, try scanning the code instead — that often still works.

Create a free owner account
An email address and a password is all it takes. The number you already typed is carried over, so you do not have to enter it twice.

Step 1 of 4 — confirm the number
We check the register once more and look for anything similar. If a close match already exists, we ask whether you are claiming that asset, registering a different one, or reporting a conflict — so two passports are never created for the same cylinder.

Step 2 — photograph the markings
Take up to four close photos of the stamped number, the label and the valve. The markings are read automatically and compared with what you typed, and you are told straight away whether they match. More photos means higher confidence.

Step 3 — who made it and what it is
The maker and the asset type are filled in from your photos wherever we can read them. Correct anything that looks wrong.

Step 4 — where it is used
Home, restaurant, school, office, commercial building, industrial site, vehicle, marine or other, plus an optional note such as "kitchen, second floor".

Your provisional passport is created
Your entry is kept as a candidate record. It never overwrites a maker's or inspector's record. You immediately see a safety status, a confidence score and what to do next.

An approved authority reviews it
An inspector, the maker, a regulator or an approved service provider checks what you submitted. They can approve it, correct a detail and approve it, or reject it with a reason. Every decision is written to a permanent history you can read.

Verified
The badge on your asset changes, the public page stops saying verification pending, and the record shows who confirmed it and when.

Stay in date
We remind you before an inspection or requalification falls due. If a date passes, your asset page tells you exactly what to do and points you to service providers.

Painted over, very old, or the label is gone? You can still start.
- 1Create a free account with your phone number — as long as you own an LPG cylinder or a fire extinguisher.
- 2Open "Register an asset" and choose "I can't find any markings".
- 3Tell us why, what it is, and its rough size and colour. Add photos of the whole asset, the neck or valve area, and any label remains.
- 4We create a provisional passport with a Vulcan-7 ID. It is not verified yet.
- 5Take the asset to an approved hub for inspection or requalification. We send reminders until it is checked.
- 6The inspector confirms its identity and condition, and your passport becomes verified.

Common questions
This happens when an asset has been painted over, is very old, or has lost its label. Create a free account first, then choose "I can't find any markings" in the registration steps. You add photos and a short description, and we give it a provisional Vulcan-7 ID.
So we can remind you when your asset is due for inspection or requalification, and point you to an approved hub near you. We never publish it.
Not safely without a check. Nobody can confirm its history from photos, so take it to an approved hub for inspection or requalification as soon as you can. We will keep reminding you until it has been checked.
A qualified inspector examines the asset, confirms or re-marks its identity, and records the result. Your provisional passport then becomes a verified one — or the asset is safely taken out of service.
Nothing is decided by the photo alone. What you typed and what was read are compared, and any disagreement is flagged for a human to settle during review. You can always continue.
Only the number is required. The maker, the type and the note are all optional — leave them blank and an authority can fill them in during review. Our assistant, on the bottom right of the public pages, can also answer questions while you go.
Arrange an inspection at your next refill, service visit or supplier pickup. It does not have to be an emergency, but do not let it drift.
Stop using it until a service provider has assessed it. A missed requalification means the pressure vessel's safety has not been confirmed.
Competing claims lower the ownership confidence on both records and are sent to an authority to resolve. Neither claim quietly wins.
The public page shows safety information only. Your name, your address, your location note and your photographs are never published.
